Counterfeit cement: Suspects arrested

The Territorial Police in Luwero district are actively investigating a case of counterfeit cement that occurred on Saturday, the 5th of April, 2025, at around 10:30 am at Kasana market and Kalongo zone, all within Luwero town council, Luwero district.
According to the Police, there was a hardware store at Kasana along Kasiso Road making counterfeit cement. Police intervention led to the arrest of one Onyango Ronald and upon further examination and search at the said hardware and his residence in Kalongo; exhibits were recovered (bags of suspected counterfeit Tororo cement, Hima cement, Fundi cement, empty packaging bags, and suspected counterfeit materials in two ordinary sacks).

The two suspects—Onyango Ronald and Mutesasira Dauda are helping in investigations.

A case of counterfeit was registered, relevant statements were recorded from relevant witnesses, samples were picked for further analysis, and all mentioned companies were informed to come and make statements.
