SFC denies allegations of torture, commit to full investigations

Following a publication on X attributed to Mr Mark Agaba‘s commonly known as “Uncle Mark” posted under the handle (@UncleMarkUganda) on 18th May, 2025 at exactly 11:12 pm, SFC has denied knowledge of such an incident but has committed to full investigations.
In a telephone interview with Jimmy Omara, the SFC spokesman, Omara says the publication which gives no information on location, victims’ names and dates, carries strong allegations of torture and gross human rights violations, allegations that can’t be taken lightly.
“We have invited Mr.Agaba to make a formal statement on the necessary details, so that inquiries into these gross allegations can commence immediately. While we condole with the family over the death of the little one, we also commit to full investigations-that we hope can lead to the full force of the law.”
Omara said that Uncle Mark’s statement and that of the victim will enable them carry out deeper investigations to ascertain facts, “since we have not heard such an incident.”
In the allegations, Uncle Mark said his relative was forced into a boot and re-appeared two days later with a missing toe. “In our Presidential safety protocols and operations, such would never arise,” said Omara, as he cast a shadow of doubt on the information that’s suddenly trending.
Speaking anonymously, a retired officer from the SFC said the unit is highly trained to manage more complex situations and a passenger riding by the road side would never be bundled onto a car boot. ” If he is riding to a police post as the publication alleges, the Presidential guards would let the police handle and report instantly.”
