Driving Uganda’s Economic Growth: The Transformative Role of Agricultural Research
Agriculture is one of the four key sectors highlighted in Uganda’s Vision 2040 as a significant contributor to wealth and employment creation. It remains the backbone of Uganda’s economic growth, contributing 23.8% to the national GDP in the FY 2022/23 and directly or indirectly employing approximately 70% of the population.
